June 2007
This month has
been an excellent month of fishing in Southwest Florida. Lets
start with the Tarpon. Not only did they show up early, they
are hungry. We have had a real food bite in the pass and a continuing
bite all the way up until it gets dark. We have been jumping
and landing Tarpon between 90 to 150 pounds. WOW! What
a fight.
Speaking
of a fight, I have had to pull out my Tarpon rods to wrestle some
of the big Snook around right now off the beaches. Snook are
all over the place to breed and have not been shy to gulp up some
live bait. Snook have been ranging from 4 to 25 pounds.
You can feel every ounce they have when you are reeling this fish
to the boat.
With all of the live
bait around, I have noticed quite a few schools of Redfish popping
up unannounced to feed. We have been hooking several of these
fish. If you have never fought a Big Redfish, now is the time!
We have been catching these fish up to 20 pounds! Some of these
fish are fighting better than the Snook.
This time of year you have quite a few other species waiting to gobble
up your bait. There are a lot of Shark, Big Shark, that have
followed the Tarpon's migratory pattern. These are good fish
to target if you are looking for a trophy catch, or want to match
your wits against one of nature's most predatory species.
We are also catching some Big Trout up to 6 pounds, Jack Crevalle
up to 12 pounds and some Mad Size Snapper. Now is the time to
come down, and the good fishing should continue over the next several
months as long as the weather does not get to bad. So, take
some time off, come down to Florida and Relax while Captain Steve
puts you on some of the biggest fish in the waters surrounding Boca
Grande and Charlotte Harbor! Fish On!!

Welcome
to 2008
Well, here we are in a brand
new year. Time for add some new BIG fish to the photo galleries,
and to see things on the water unheard of until they happen.
This year will be a great year to go fishing as all of the previous
years. Sooo, your question is what is going on now?
Snook and Redfish are trying to stay warm. Wether it is in depressions,
canal systems, rivers or a sunny flat on a warm winter day.
The truth is that the fish are fairly easy to get to in the winter.
The tides are low which drives fish to depressions where they get
trapped, and oh yes, they still have to eat. Maybe not as agressive
or eager as in the summer, but, they still eat well and provide an
excellent fight. I have been running charters and catching up
to 75 fish in one 6 hour trip!! They included a pile of Redfish,
several Snook, Snapper, Jack Crevalle, Monster Trout and one Flounder.
This is not abnormal this time of year because when the water goes
out Captain Steve knows where the fish have to go. Give me a
call and make your next fishing trip Unforgettable. Oh yeah,
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
Fish On!
